What to expect during your virtual lactation consult
When you book a virtual consultation, you’ll get personalized, one-on-one support tailored to your unique needs.
Here’s how it works:

Pre-Consultation Intake: Share your concerns and goals through a secure online form. You'll receive instructions for submitting videos & images of your baby feeding, sucking on a finger, etc as applicable. Submitting these prior to your visit will help achieve the best results

Live Video Session: Meet with me via a private, HIPAA-compliant platform. Together, we’ll review both your & your baby's health history from a holistic lens, assess feeding techniques, address concerns, and create a customized plan.

Follow-Up Care: Some patients will require follow up appointments, for ongoing support through email or chat for questions that arise after your session will suffice.

What's the investment? Does Insurance cover virtual lactation care?
Many insurance providers cover lactation care fully or partially, however, each plan is unique. Little Bear Lactation is currently working with a variety of health insurance plans to ensure accessible care.
If we are not working with your plan, you will pay the visit fee and be provided with a Superbill to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

1. How does a virtual consultation work?
Virtual consultations are conducted over secure video calls. You’ll receive step-by-step guidance, just as you would in person. All you need is a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera.

2. Can you really help without being in person?
Yes! Many breastfeeding challenges can be effectively addressed virtually. I’ll guide you through assessments, demonstrate techniques, and provide real-time feedback.

3. What if my baby has a tongue tie or other medical issues?
I can help identify possible concerns and collaborate with your healthcare provider to ensure your baby gets the care they need.

4. Do you offer follow-up support?
Absolutely! Email & messenger follow up is included to answer questions about your care plan, and follow up appointments will be recommended as needed for changes to your care plan or check-ins.

5. Is virtual breastfeeding help covered by insurance?
The short answer is: maybe. If your insurance provider is not working with Little Bear Lactation, you will pay out of pocket and Little Bear Lactation will provide you with documentation to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. You may also use FSA/HSA benefits for lactation care.
